Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Commitment to You

At Ride On! Entertainment, your privacy is very important to us. Innovative Retail Pty Ltd (trading as Ride On! Entertainment) (Ride On! Entertainment) is committed to the protection of individuals' personal information in accordance with the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) in the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act). We want to ensure that our customers are confident that any information collected by us is treated with the appropriate degree of confidentiality and privacy.

The NPPs set out minimum standards for the way in which organisations deal with individuals' personal information. Under the Privacy Act, personal information includes information from which an individual's identity is apparent or is reasonably ascertainable. This Privacy Policy explains how Ride On! Entertainment collects, stores, uses and discloses personal information, and the rights of individuals to gain access to information held about them by Ride On! Entertainment.

Collection of Personal Information

We are in the business of providing children's entertainment. Unlike many organisations, the identity of the individuals most important to our business - the children - does not always affect our service delivery.

Our most critical customers are the children who enjoy our rides - and as long as they are happy, we are happy as well.

So we don't always need to know the names of our customers to do our job properly.
There will be occasions where, in providing our services, we do collect certain personal information, and in those cases, you have our commitment that privacy protection is utmost in our minds.

Where it is necessary for us to do so, Ride On! Entertainment only collects personal information in connection with our business purpose. The purposes for which we collect personal information include:

  • to provide children's rides and other forms of entertainment for children;
  • to respond to specific issues addressed to us by our customers from time to time;
  • to analyse and process information for product development, marketing and research purposes and to improve and extend our services.

In other instances, we sometimes collect personal information about individuals directly from them and from information supplied in writing (such as feedback forms, or requests made to us in writing).

Use and disclosure of Personal Information

Ride On! Entertainment may use and disclose an individual's personal information for the primary purpose for which the information was collected (see Collection of Personal Information), as well as other reasonably expected secondary purposes, where the individual has consented (including parents or guardians of children who use our rides), and otherwise in accordance with the NPPs, including:

  • to provide our goods or services to children or their parents and/or guardians;
  • where the law requires or authorises us to do so;
  • to investigate and resolve matters if a complaint is made concerning the provision of our services or by others associated with us; and
  • to use for marketing purposes associated with our business operations. Most importantly, we do not disclose any personal information about children outside Ride On! Entertainment, nor will we ever do so unless we have a parent's or guardian's consent or unless the law requires us to do so.

Data Quality, Storage and Security

We take careful steps to ensure that the personal information held in our records is protected from misuse, loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Personal information collected and stored by Ride On! Entertainment is controlled very strictly. Access to that personal information is restricted (in accordance with our procedures) to personnel whose job functions require access to such information.

Our systems for storage and security of personal information will be reviewed at regular intervals.

Access and Correction

Much of the personal information we collect from time to time in connection with our children's rides is only temporarily stored, in some cases for a matter of only minutes. In those cases, it is not practicable for us to provide people (such as parents or guardians of children who have used our rides) with access to that information.

In those cases where we do permanently hold personal information about individuals in our records, individuals may seek access to that information by written request. In most cases, we will be happy to provide access, but you should be aware that we are able to deny access to that information in certain circumstances, including:

  • where providing access would have an unreasonable impact upon the privacy of another individual;
  • where, in our opinion, the request is frivolous or vexatious; or
  • where providing access would be unlawful, or the law permits us to deny access.

We will happily correct any personal information which we become aware is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. If we do not agree that information is inaccurate, incomplete or out-of-date, it may not be amended.

We are entitled to charge an administrative fee for providing access to information held on our systems.
We may also require certain administrative procedures be followed in order to substantiate a request for access, especially where a request is made to access information we may hold about children. The relevant process and any fees will be advised when a request is made.

Anonymity

The NPPs require us to give individuals the option of not identifying themselves when entering into transactions with us, wherever it is lawful and practicable to do so. Many of the services we offer, and the children's entertainment rides we operate, can be used by parents and children on an anonymous basis - we don't always need your name and contact details for your child to enjoy one of our rides.

The normal operation of some of our children's rides, however, do automatically record and store visual information about ride users. In those cases we are unable to offer a truly anonymous service, but in those cases, the collection use and storage of identifying details is only temporary.

Ride On! Entertainment has a strict policy of denying all requests for information about individuals stored within our system from any individual choosing to remain anonymous. All requests for information held in our records, including information about children, must be made with full disclosure of the identity of the person making the request.

Changes to Privacy Policy

Ride On! Entertainment may review and update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law, our business practices and procedures, and the community's changing privacy expectations.
Updated changes to the Privacy Policy will be displayed on our website.
